Caliber Collision, the largest US collision platform at 1,800+ centers, acquired mobile auto-body company Car Body Lab to expand Caliber Fleet Solutions, its division serving high-volume fleets. The founder joined Caliber as a VP of operations.

This wasn't about adding storefronts. It was about adding a capability (mobile repair) that a fixed-site network can't easily offer.

Why Car Body Lab was a target

→Mobile repair unlocks a fleet/B2B channel Caliber couldn't serve from fixed sites, capturing work at the customer's premises.
→The founder and his operating know-how were retained as talent, often as valuable as the assets.
→Recurring, contracted fleet revenue is exactly the kind of durable book acquirers prize.
